At the Time of writing this article, Firefox is in the Version 11 of Stable release and in the recent Nightly build of Firefox 14, Mozilla has introduced a Brand New Download Manager Interface which comes with a minimalistic look and feel and comes with a new a new download button in the browser window. Today we will discuss about it in details and for any reason if you are not happy with the latest Interface, then I will show you how you can revert back to the previous interface of the Download Window.

At the time of writing this article, this new Download window interface is only available on Firefox 14 Nighty Build. If you also want to see the new improved look and feel of the download window then first Download Firefox 14 Nighty build from the official page and install it to your system. Now whenever you will download any file from the internet, you will see a Download Button on the right side of your Navigation toolbar. When you will click on that button, your download information will be displayed on a pop-up window as shown in following screenshot.

I personally consider it as an improvement and like the new interface. But if you are a old school kind of a guy and want to see the previous interface instead of this new, then I also have a solution for you. For this we are going to use the good old about:config customization method in our Firefox 14.

First enter about:config into the address bar of the browser and hit the enter key. Now as usual click on the “I’ll be Careful, I Promise!” button . Now search for the term browser.download.useToolkitUI and then double-click on the entry to set it’s value to true.

That’s it. Now whenever you will try to download anything from the internet, your old interface of the Download window will be shown to you. I hope you have enjoyed the article. Don’t forget to subscribe to us for more interesting news and articles. Thank you.
