As you already knew that Mac OS X Lion introduced an app launcher very much similar to the iOS called Launchpad, With which you can have access to your applications in a very beautiful User Interface. Today we are going to discuss about a new freeware application called “XLaunchpad” which also allows you to Get Mac-Like LaunchPad In Windows 7 and in Windows 8.
XLaunchpad gives you a handy and beautiful way to get access to and launch all the the programs installed on your PC. You Arrange apps in XLaunchpad any way you like by dragging icons to different locations or by grouping apps in folders. Simply drag one icon over another to create a folder. you can name the folder whatever you like when you open the folder. It looks very similar to OSX Lion’s program launcher, and for users who want a more “Mac like” experience, this freeware application can help them out.
Once you install the program, you can quickly bring up your launcher by pressing F12 or by moving the mouse cursor into the upper left corner of the screen. When you first launch the app, you will see a few shortcuts added by default for your continence. To delete any of these shortcuts, click and hold on an icon. The icons will starts to shake and a cross will be superimposed on each one. Clicking the cross will delete the icon, without uninstalling the application or deleting the folder. If you want to add more icons to your LaunchPad then just right click anywhere on the LaunchPad and select Add > File. Now, browse to the location of a file, folder or application shortcut. By default, the app has two pages but you can add many additional pages simply by right-clicking on the LaunchPad and selecting New Page.
If you are lazy kind of a person and the above method for adding new items to your Launchpad is too much for you then you can also add Launchpad option in your Right-click context menu. Just go to the Others tab in settings and select “Add Desktop RightClick MenuItem” or “Add “Send To” RightClick MenuItem”. You will be able to right-click on any icon and send it to the app from the context menu.
Overall, XLaunchpad is one of the best way to get Get Mac-Like LaunchPad In Windows 7 and 8. In Mac, the Launchpad’s functionality is limited to only app shortcuts, where as on the other hand XLaunchpad lets you add both application and folder shortcuts to your LaunchPad. In fact It allows you to groups as many shortcuts as you like.
