We all know that Google has been shutting down services like crazy. Recently Google has decided to shut down it's one of the most popular service "Google Reader". The news was actually very shocking to everyone, specially to it's millions of loyal users. Similarly last year Google decided to remove "Background Image" customization feature from it's search engine to build a more streamlined Google Search page for everyone.

Well, what can we say about Google's decisions ! But if you are a Google user like me who loved that "Background Image" Customization feature, then there is a good news for you. Now you can get back your favorite feature very easily.
 
If you are using Google Chrome browser then now you can use this Custom Google Background extension and customize the Google search page background to something of your liking. For example you can use your family photograph or your favorite wallpaper as a background image.
 
Using the extension is very simple. Just Download the Custom Google Background extension from chrome web store and install it. Immediately after the installation is complete, you will be redirected to the extension's settings page.

You can Upload an image from your computer or Use a web address to display an image from the web. You can even search and use a picture from the 500px website directly from the settings page. And the best thing is that you are not limited to only one background image. You can upload multiple images and select the random mode so that you get to see a different background whenever you reload the page.

Other then that you can also use this extension to clean out your Google page. Just look at the screenshot above and you will notice a few very useful options. You can use those additional options to hide Google logo, Search button, Lucky button, Footer and Promotions.
